The Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario is seeking a Pediatric Respirologist for a full time position starting July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will join the existing team of 4 full-time and 1 part-time Pediatric Respirologists, forming the Division of Respiratory Medicine at CHEO. In addition to covering general respiratory medicine service, the successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to act as physician lead to the Pediatric Sleep (laboratory and clinic) and Home Ventilation programs. This will therefore be a primarily clinical role (70% clinical / administrative, 30% academic). The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the running of the sleep laboratory (dedicated 4 bed unit, currently performing around 500 studies annually, with ability to perform MSLTs), as well as the Home Ventilation Program.
The applicant must have a fellowship in Pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, and have subspecialty training in Pediatric Respiratory Medicine. In addition, the applicant must have additional expertise in Pediatric Sleep Medicine, preferably through completion of a dedicated 1 year Pediatric Sleep Medicine postgraduate training, or equivalent experience and / or training.
