With the recent expansion of Cleveland Clinic’s Florida main campus in Weston comes a variety of exciting new opportunities for ambitious, dedicated professionals. This position would entail working with an inter-disciplinary team of highly qualified specialists, including neurologists, ENT/neuro-otologist, internal medicine and geriatric specialists, specialized vestibular physical therapist and infectious disease physicians.
Audiological testing, including complex hearing and vestibular problems; with emphasis on vestibular testing; with additional duties to include prescribing, fitting and dispensing amplification, with interest in training and supervision of audiology interns and externs.
Delivers audiological services to patients complaining of hearing or balance disorders.
Dispenses hearing aids and assistive listening devices per evidence- based best practice protocols.
Counsels patients regarding their hearing impairment and informs them of available treatment options.
Maintains patient, medical record, department and employee confidentiality at all times.
Maintains communication with physicians, nurses, and other departments.
Demonstrates knowledge of infection control practices.
Follows Code Blue protocol as per CCF policy.
Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
Other duties as assigned.
Doctor of Audiology.
Acquired adequate knowledge of CCF's policies and procedure.
Florida Department of Health Board Licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Completion of fellowship year and supervision by Head Audiologist is recommended to perform the job responsibilities satisfactory.
Essential Duties: In collaboration with a licensed physician, this position requires evaluating the health status of selected patients, provides therapy and education to patients and their families. Performs diagnostic and clinical research studies according to accepted standards of care per CCF policy.
Physical Duties: This position requires frequent walking, sitting, and standing. Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations. Frequent use of the phone, fax machines, and computer.
Working Conditions: The majority of time the employee spends indoors in air-conditioned areas. Potential for exposure to blood and blood borne pathogens is significant. Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment. Local travel with own transportation required.
