The Kansas City, MO Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking a BC Chief of Dermatology. Practice clinical dermatology (and MOHS, if trained) in an academic teaching environment while also the Derm Section. We maintain a close relationship with our teaching affiliate, the University of Kansas. Faculty appointment expected. Research opportunities are available. Three-five year's leadership experience required. Sign on bonus available, relocation expenses available, assistance with payment of med school loans (up to $200K)!! Clinical: Provide Dermatological patient care to our veteran patients. This would include prescribing medications, performing minor surgical procedures, biopsies, laboratory requests, and seeing patients in an inpatient and outpatient clinic setting. Teledermatology: You will assist in developing an effective and thriving program in teledermatology which will comprise approximately 20% of practice with possibility of future growth. Practice intention will be to manage a major share of dermatology consultations from Wichita and other VA facilities in the area. Teaching: Provide guidance to rotating Residents (IM and Derm), Fellows, and Medical Students on rotation from University of Kansas, School of Medicine. Skills needed would be to lead, give direction, provide knowledge, skills and abilities in the Dermatology field and train other professional staff in the dermatology section. Administrative: Attend hospital assigned committees, section meetings, etc. Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual department reports, maintaining accurate data on all procedures. Prepare and update policy and procedure manual for the department to comply with JCAHO guidelines. Medical advisory opinions and review of tort claims.
