The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute (CMHVI) seeks an interested Electrophysiologist to join the EP/Arrhythmia Cardiology Section. The candidate may be an experienced electrophysiologist or a graduating EP fellow and should have expertise in all aspects of procedural and clinical electrophysiology.
The EP/Arrhythmia program is one of many new developing programs in a dedicated service line consisting of inpatient and outpatient cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, structural and interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and a robust vascular surgery program. Both experienced cardiologists and graduating fellows are welcome.
The candidate will participate in the EP/Arrhythmia Cardiology Section, which includes a high-volume EP lab, as well as both inpatient and outpatient consultative EP services. Outpatient clinics will focus on EP patients and referrals. Dedicated administrative time will be provided for specific interests in quality and process improvement.
The CMHVI is part of a larger Central Maine Healthcare System which includes three hospitals located in Lewiston, Rumford, and Bridgeton. The CMHVI has an affiliation with Massachusetts General Hospital and is currently developing collaborative programs in surgery, shock, and heart failure. There are opportunities for an interested candidate to expand on this MGH affiliation both clinically and academically.
Central Maine is located approximately 30 miles northwest of Portland. The Lewiston-Auburn area has the second-highest population in Maine after Portland. Most providers live along the coast and in closer proximity to Portland. The CMHVI is committed to enhancing the Maine experience and promotes a work-life balance, salaries above the national average, comprehensive benefits, concierge relocation assistance, tuition loan reimbursement, and the equivalent of 6 weeks of vacation (Choice Time) plus additional paid CME weeks. There is currently no dedicated EP call.
Maine has excellent schools and offers a full outdoor experience that includes beautiful beaches, access to lakes and mountains, skiing, biking, and year-round hiking. The New England coastline with its charming towns and ports is unequaled in its desirability to live and raise a family. The Portland Jetport is 30 minutes from Lewiston with non-stop flights to most major cities and Boston’s Logan Airport is 90 minutes from Portland.
Leadership interests and backgrounds are also welcomed and supported. The CMHVI is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equality: an inviting, comfortable, and safe environment for all those that apply.
